Mission - PQ's Analytical Services group,
based at the Research Center in Conshohocken, PA, provides material
characterization data to PQ customers supporting the company's sales of soluble
silicates, silicas, zeolites, and glasses. As a service organization, we strive
to produce high quality, timely information using state-of-the-art
instrumentation and methods.
Capabilities - PQ's Analytical Services
group consists of professional and technician staff members possessing nearly a
century of combined expertise in the analysis of siliceous materials. The team
includes Ph.D. chemists specializing in spectroscopy and separations. A complete
line of modern analytical instrumentation is supported, including inductively
coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, x-ray
diffraction and fluorescence, and scanning electron microscopy.
Testing - PQ's
Analytical Services group has developed numerous standard testing procedures to
support routine analysis and quality control of the company's assorted product
lines. In addition, the group plays a key role within the company's quality
assurance effort to support programs such as analytical crosschecks between PQ
plants and with PQ customers. The group undertakes methods development to
advance our understanding of product chemistry in existing applications and to
support new product and business development opportunities.
