Hydrous and Anhydrous Powders

PQ's SS® line is a family of anhydrous sodium silicate powders that are used to regulate the speed of chemical reactions and to grind dry materials.

PQ, North America's leading producer of Hydrous sodium silicate powders, is ready to work with you to determine the appropriate grade for your application.

Sodium Metasilicate

PQ leads the industry in producing high-quality sodium metasilicate products, in suggesting ways to make those products work in customer applications, and in assisting our customers with expert technical support.

PQ produces two types of sodium metasilicate. METSO BEADS® 2048 (anhydrous) and METSO PENTABEAD® (pentahydrate). Both products are fast-dissolving, dustless, and concentrated sources of alkali and silica.

METSO® Sodium Metasilicates recommended literature:
PQ® Detergent Formulary - PQ manufactures a wide variety of sodium and potassium silicates and sodium metasilicates for the soap and detergent industries.

PQ® Soluble Silicates for Textile Processing - Because of their unique detergency properties, PQ's METSO® sodium metasilicate products are able to remove light or heavy grease and soil in either hard or soft water

PQ® Soluble Silicates in Refractory and Chemical-Resistant Cements - The addition of a small percentage, relative to other silicate powders present, of METSO BEADS® 2048 anhydrous sodium metasilicate may promote faster solution by quickly generating alkalinity in the solution water.

METSO® Sodium Metasilicates and PQ® BRITESIL Hydrous Polysilicate product families have been specially developed for modern detergents.
