PQ Corporation manufactures many products for use in paints and coatings. A broad range of
Sodium Silicate
products are available for use as pigment binders, corrosion inhibitors and to provide reflectivity.
Potters Industries Inc. SPHERIGLASS® solid glass spheres (density 2.5 g/cc) and SPHERICEL® hollow glass spheres (density 1.1 g/cc) are used as extenders in paints and coatings. The non-porous surface of the glass sphere results in very low oil absorption. Adding glass spheres to a coating formulation allows VOC reduction.
Potters’ Technical Quality solid glass beads are used in milling applications to reduce particle size of pigments for paints and inks.
