Assessing Our Products

PQ Corporation has implemented a comprehensive product safety and product stewardship process to assure that the hazards of our products, if any, are periodically evaluated and that the risks identified are appropriately managed to minimize potential impacts to health, safety and the environment; that relevant information and assistance regarding proper use of our products is provided to our commercial partners and other relevant stakeholders; and that our products are sold in compliance with laws and regulations that govern them.

Under our product stewardship review process, PQ Corporation conducts product hazard and exposure assessments for all new products and new end uses. These assessments typically include development of a toxicological profile, identification of critical effects, and a review of the entire product life cycle for potential human health and environmental. This information is then used to evaluate current risk management and/or exposure control measures to assess their effectiveness and to determine if additional control measures are warranted.

Throughout the life cycle of our products, PQ Corporation is committed to periodically analyzing our product applications in order to understand the highest potential exposures associated with the product use and to assure that appropriate control measures are being implemented as new or better information becomes available. The results of these efforts are communicated to the appropriate marketing, sales and production staff as well as other internal stakeholders. PQ Corporation also communicates key results to the appropriate transporters, carriers, suppliers, distributors, customers and other end users in the product supply chain.
