Sodium and Potassium Silicates
PQ Sodium and Potassium Silicates are a convenient source of soluble silica that can be used in the manufacture of silica derivative products. Among such derivatives are:

Precipitated silicas

Silica gels

Colloidal silicas

Zeolites and molecular sieves

Silica catalysts and catalyst supports

Each type of derivative product has many industrial applications. Some of the more familiar applications are water softening, petroleum refining, and use as separation agents, dessicants, adsorbants, flow aids, and coatings.

Magnesium Sulfate
Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate (Epsom Salt; MgSO^₄ . 7 H₂O) is used in the manufacture of other magnesium-containing compounds, including magnesium stearate. Among the many other ways magnesium sulfate is used in manufacturing, the material serves as an enzyme activator in the production of high fructose corn syrup, it supports the emulsion process in producing ABS resins, and it acts as a crosslinking enhancer in the manufacture of halogenated polymers.
